On April 24th 2018, the first 12 JOYs were minted on the original smart contract JOY created, making them the first 3D artworks with proof of ownership stored on the Ethereum blockchain.The initial contract, structured in a "Hot-Potato" format, allowed rapid succession trades between collectors until settling with the most persistent one. Anyone, at any time, could steal your JOY from you. However, as JOYWORLD expanded, collectors expressed a need for solid ownership. In December 2019, JOYs migrated to a new contract, offering enhanced capabilities and secure ownership.
Newly created JOYs are auctioned on the decentralized JOYWORLD homepage, enabling collectors to place bids across multiple platforms, consolidating bids on the JOYWORLD auction ledger. When the timer ends, the top bid across all platforms will be selected and that JOY Collector will win their very own magical JOY.
